STP 3. Statue Pedestal.
Present location: Caputi Square, Croton.

Description: This artifact, similar in dimensions and finishing state to STP 1 and STP 4, is
semi-finished. The general shape of the pedestal has been completed, but its surface is
unpolished and bears clear marks of a pointed chisel. There are almost no signs of marine
erosion. Its base and top are rectangular, and the body is almost square in section.
A smooth band is present only at the top, which appears to have been roughly worked out
in antiquity.
