Custom Ground <strong>Cams</strong><br />

<strong>Crane</strong> <strong>Cams</strong> offers custom designed<br />

and ground cams sold outright, when<br />

cam cores are available, or reground,<br />

with the customer providing the cam<br />

core. We have hundreds of different<br />

cam cores, cast (for flat face hydraulic<br />

and mechanical lifter applications) and<br />

steel roller (hydraulic roller and<br />

mechanical roller) cores for various cylinder<br />

blocks, heads, journal diameters,<br />

firing orders, etc. New cores are also<br />

constantly being added.<br />

Each outright <strong>Crane</strong> custom-ground<br />

cam has its own unique part number.<br />

This includes your being able to reorder<br />

the exact same cam any time you<br />

wish to reorder. You won’t need to restate<br />

the lobe profile, centerline, or<br />

other option specs. Just refer to the<br />

1. Choose the lobe profile you wish to have ground and the<br />

lifter type: Hydraulic; hydraulic roller; mechanical<br />

(“solid”); or mechanical roller. (See Lobe Master Catalog,<br />

street performance cam applications use the recommendation<br />

form on Page 367.<br />

<strong>Crane</strong> engine prefix, basic type of cam<br />

are updated frequently, and are the<br />

part numbers for custom grinds that<br />

may already include your own choice<br />

of profiles. If so, we can supply the<br />

grind part number for ordering. On<br />

new orders, once the order has been<br />

submitted the part number will be<br />

assigned and the order processed.<br />

3. Give us your engine make, year and C.I.D., lobe profile<br />

info (intake and exhaust), lobe separation and particulars<br />

(small base circle, special drive, etc.).<br />

4. Tell us your preferred return shipping method and<br />

requested delivery date (We normally ship UPS or FedEx).<br />

5. If you’re a <strong>Crane</strong> <strong>Cams</strong> Engine Builder or WD, give us your<br />

P.O. Number and Account Number plus any additional info<br />

you wish to provide.<br />
