Company, at the Little Angels Performing<br />

Arts Center, September 18-23<br />

Forty-two dancers including Moon<br />

Hun-sook appeared in this dance<br />

piece about a filial daughter,<br />

choreographed by Adrian Delis. A<br />

total of 6,564 persons attended the<br />

performances.<br />

• Gori (Unification), by the Seoul<br />

Metropolitan Dance Company, at the<br />

Small Hall of Sejong Cultural Center,<br />

September 23-24<br />

Moon ll-chi choreographed this dance<br />

based on a script by Park Yong-gu.<br />

Sixty-seven dancers appeared, and<br />

audiences totalled 1,465.<br />

• Wavecrest, by the Korean Modern<br />

Dance Company at the National<br />

Theatre, September 25-26<br />

This contemporary dance,<br />

choreographed by Yook Wan-sun, was<br />

performed by 41 dancers including<br />

Ahn Shin-hee. A total of 3,784 persons<br />

attended the performances.<br />

• The Picture of Longevity and They<br />

Went to the Countryside, by the Hong<br />

Jung-hee Ballet Company, Ballet Blanc<br />

and the Ae-ji Ballet Group, at the<br />

Munye Theater, September 26-27<br />

A total of 3,205 persons attended<br />

these performances of two dance<br />

works choreographed by Hong Jung-hee<br />

and Kim Myong-sun, and presented by<br />

78 dancers including Kim Myong-hee<br />

and Kim Pok-son.<br />

• White Blood, by the National Dance<br />

Company at the National Theatre,<br />

September 28-29<br />

The dance borrowed its theme from the<br />

epic of a sixth-century Buddhist martyr<br />

who sacrificed his life to propagate<br />

Buddhism in Korea. One hundred and<br />

eighty dancers, including Son Pyong-wu<br />

and Choe Young-sook, appeared<br />

in this dance choreographed by Kook<br />

Su-ho. A total of 4,283 persons<br />

attended the performances.<br />

• Yo Suk, the Princess of Shilla, and<br />

Twiler, Theatre and Tambour, by the<br />

Kim Pok-hee & Kim Hwa-sook Dance<br />

Company and the Korea Contemporary<br />

Dance Troupe, at Munye Theater,<br />

September 29-30<br />

Yo Suk, the Princess of ShiIla was<br />

choreographed by Kim Pok-hee and<br />

Kim Hwa-sook and Twiler, Theatre and<br />

Tambour by Kim Ki-in. The two-day<br />

performance attracted a total of 2,673<br />

persons.<br />

dancing companies<br />

• Carmen, A busy Life and Allegro de<br />

Concerto, by Maria Rosa Su Ballet<br />

Espanol, at the National Theatre,<br />

August 24-25<br />

These three varied repertoires of<br />

flamenco were performed by 27<br />

members of the Maria Rosa Su Ballet<br />

Espanol led by Maria Rosa, one of<br />

Spain's most renowned dancers,<br />

before a combined andience of 4,228.<br />

Chu Lee, a Korean dancer residing in<br />

Spain, also took part in the performances.<br />

• Baroque Suite, Radical Lights,<br />

Animated Shorts and Sacra Conversazione,<br />

by the Toronto Dance Theatre,<br />

at Munye Theater, August 28-29<br />

Twenty dancers including Suzette<br />

Sherman performed these four works<br />

choreographed by Christopher House<br />

and Patricia Beatty. The three performances<br />

drew audiences totalling<br />

2,367.<br />

• In the Glow of the Night, Time Out<br />

and Silvia Pas de Deux by the<br />

States performed 'In the Glow of the<br />

Night', 'Time Out', and other dances at<br />

the National Theater on August 30 and 31.<br />

13. The London Contemporary Dance<br />

Theater of Great Britain performs during<br />

the Seoul International Dance Festival.<br />

14. Dancers from the Soviet Bolshoi Ballet<br />

stage 'Swan Lake' and other pieces from<br />

their repertoire at Sejong Cultural Center<br />

from September 3 to 5.<br />

15. The Maria Rosa y su Ballet Espanol of<br />

Spain dances 'Carmen' among other<br />

works at the National Theatre on<br />

September 24 and 25.<br />

16. Canadian dancers of the Toronto<br />

Dance Theater stage a performance at the<br />

Munye Theater on August 28 and 29.<br />

17. The Hungarian Ballet Company of<br />

Gyor dances at the Munye Theater on<br />
