the Seoul Olympic Games. To provide<br />

convenience at the airports and harbors,<br />

the SLOOC also sent arrival and<br />

departure guide brochure, ID buttons,<br />

cargo stickers and tags to the IOC, 161<br />

NOCs, IFs, broadcast and press<br />

organizations and invited VIPs.<br />

The entry and departure guide<br />

brochure was in the form of a small<br />

booklet, 10.5 centimeters by 21 centimeters.<br />

A total of 20,654 copies in<br />

English and French were sent to foreign<br />

countries and 6,695 copies to<br />

domestic organizations between<br />

November 1987 and April 1988.<br />

The ID buttons and cargo stickers and<br />

tags were rendered in four colors for<br />

easy recognition — gold, blue, green,<br />

and red. The buttons sent out numbered:<br />

630 gold buttons, 864 blue<br />

buttons, 2,817 red buttons, and 17,130<br />

green buttons. The cargo stickers<br />

numbered: 6,300 gold,<br />

8,640 blue, 42,302 red, and 254,885<br />

green stickers. The tags numbered:<br />

1,890 gold, 22,592 blue, 11,256 red,<br />

and 67,972 green tags.<br />

Acquisition of exclusive facility<br />

for reception<br />

Exclusive facilities were secured for<br />

the reception, and welcoming facilities<br />

were installed. The exclusive facilities<br />

included offices and warehouses in<br />

the Reception Headquarters, VIP room,<br />

special lounge for other dignitaries,<br />

immigration counter for entrance and<br />

departure, and customs counter. At the<br />

Kimpo International Airport's new terminal,<br />

the SLOOC secured two VIP<br />

rooms with 24 seats each, and one<br />

press conference room with 20 seats.<br />

At the airport's old terminal, the<br />

SLOOC secured one special VIP room<br />

with 20 seats, and three ordinary VIP<br />

rooms with 40 seats each.<br />

A special lounge with 70 seats was<br />

arranged each in the new and old<br />

terminals.<br />

In the new terminal, 22 exclusive<br />

Olympic Family immigration counters<br />

were installed to the east side, and 11<br />

to the west side. In the old terminal,<br />

20 immigration counters were set up.<br />

As for customs, 12 counters were set<br />

up in the new terminal, and 10 counters<br />

in the old terminal.<br />

Seven guide counters for entry services<br />

were set up in both the new and<br />

old terminals while four counters for<br />

departure services were set up in the<br />

new terminal, and four in the old<br />

terminal.<br />

The exclusive facilities installed at<br />

Kimhae Airport included: six immigration<br />

counters for entry and departure<br />

services, six customs counters, five<br />

boarding transportation counters, four<br />

guide counters, and two delivery stands<br />

for valuable goods.<br />

The welcoming facilities included welcoming<br />

boards, welcoming arches and<br />

towers, welcoming placards, street<br />

flags on utility poles, and flags for<br />

special VIP rooms. Two welcoming<br />

boards were installed each at Kimpo<br />

Airport's new and old terminals, Kimhae<br />

Airport, Seoul Airport and Inchon<br />

Harbor. Each welcoming arch was<br />

installed at the entrances to Kimpo<br />

Airport, Kimhae Airport, and Inchon<br />

Harbor. One welcoming tower was set<br />

up at the entrance of Kimpo Airport<br />

and the front facade of the new terminal.<br />

One welcoming placard was hung<br />

at both the new and old terminals of<br />

Kimpo Airport, information desks in<br />

lounges, Seoul Airport and Inchon<br />

Harbor. A total of 3,960 street flags<br />

were hoisted at Kimpo Airport, Seoul<br />

Airport, Kimhae Airport and Cheju<br />

Airport, including 1,320 IOC flags,<br />

1,320 SLOOC flags, and 1,320 Seoul<br />

city flags. Inside the special VIP room,<br />

one IOC flag, measuring 100cmx150<br />
