The extra officials were allowed to use<br />

the dining hall of the Olympic Village,<br />

gain access to the sites of competition<br />

concerned, and to use shuttle buses<br />

At the time the ID card manual was<br />

compiled in February 1987, the number<br />

of extra officials was set at 400. As<br />

requests continued to flow in, however,<br />

accreditation cards were issued to<br />

Transferable Cards<br />

In accordance with the provision of the<br />

Olympic Charter, 12 transferable B<br />

cards were issued to IOC, 12 transferable<br />

C cards to each IF, and one transferable<br />

C card for every 20 athletes per<br />

country.<br />

The transferable cards were divided<br />

into upgrade cards and assigned<br />

cards.<br />

Holders of IF and NOC cards were<br />

allowed to use the upgrade card<br />

together with their own cards to gain<br />

access to the place other than the<br />

places authorized to them. The<br />

upgrade card had no photograph, but<br />

was marked with "Transferable" on the<br />

signature line; the name of the<br />

bearer's NOC was entered in the card.<br />

Assigned cards were issued to those<br />

who belonged to the IOC, IFs, and<br />

NOCs, but who had no accreditation<br />

cards. Entered into the card were photograph,<br />

name, function and nationality;<br />

next to the category letters was<br />

"TR" mark done by laser printer.<br />
