Seoul Airport<br />
The center was operated from August<br />
17 to October 2, 1988. Ninety-five persons,<br />
including British Princess Anne<br />
and King Gustaf of Sweden entered<br />
the country via the airport.<br />
It was originally planned to hold receptions<br />
for state guests and accommodate<br />
the exclusive and chartered<br />
planes, but there was little to do<br />
because only four flights used the<br />
airport.<br />
Headquarters Hotel<br />
The center was operated from<br />
September 3 to October 2, 1988.<br />
Eligible for accreditation at the Headquarters<br />
Hotel were persons belonging<br />
to three categories, IOC, IFs and<br />
NOCs. Companions and some of the<br />
VIPs in B,G,O, and GV categories who<br />
checked into nearby hotels received<br />
their cards at the Headquarters Hotel<br />
Accreditation Center. Operation staff<br />
numbered 33 during the period<br />
between September 3 and 17, but was<br />
reduced to 22 persons thereafter. Two<br />
lines of card issuing served 1,046<br />
persons.<br />
Accreditation Center for Designated<br />
Hotels<br />
The center was operated from September<br />
3 to October 2, 1988. It was<br />
open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. during<br />
the period from September 3 to 14,<br />
and extended its service hours until 11<br />
p.m. on September 15 and 16. September<br />
16 marked the peak operation,<br />
handling 912 cases. The center was<br />
operated by 68 personnel until September<br />
17, and thereafter by 37.<br />
Olympic Village Accreditation<br />
Center<br />
The center was operated around the<br />
clock from July 20 to October 5, 1988,<br />
issuing 14,447 cards. From September<br />
1 to 17, 152 personnel were put into the<br />
operation using six lines, with peak<br />
reaching 1,640 cases on September<br />
15. Because the center was used by<br />
athletes and officials, care was taken<br />
to alleviate long waiting.<br />
Press Village Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated for a daily<br />
average of 11 hours from September 2<br />
to October 2, 1988, issuing 4,888<br />
cards. Peak issuance was on September<br />
15, with 846 persons. Until<br />
September 17, the center was operated<br />
by 85 personnel, and from then<br />
on until October 2 it was operated<br />
by 38.<br />
IBC Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated from August<br />
17 to October 2, 1988, issuing 10,266<br />
cards. From September 1 to 17, the<br />
center was open for 15 hours on the<br />
average, with peak issuance for 678<br />
persons on September 2. Fifty-nine<br />
staff operated the center until<br />
September 17.<br />
Youth Camp Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated 24 hours a<br />
day from September 9 to October 1,<br />
1988, issuing cards to a total of 878<br />
participants. Twenty-six staff worked at<br />
a single line without causing any<br />
confusion.<br />
Pusan Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated from July 20<br />
to September 29, 1988, issuing a total<br />
of 6,767 cards. The center was open<br />
from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during<br />
July, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during<br />
August, but the service hours was<br />
extended until midnight from September<br />
1 to 15. Cards were issued to 871<br />
Olympic Family members including<br />
the athletes and officials participating<br />
in yachting competitions as well as to<br />
the operation personnel serving in the<br />
region.<br />
Taegu Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated by 17 staff<br />
from August 16 to September 5, 1988,<br />
issuing cards to 1,896 persons. Due to<br />
lack of computer equipment, cards<br />
were issued using insert paper which<br />
was prepared in advance.<br />

Kwangju Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated by 14 staff<br />
from August 10 to September 15, 1988,<br />
issuing cards to 1,644 persons.<br />
Taejon Accreditation Center<br />
The center was operated by 17 staff<br />
from August 16 to September 15, 1988,<br />
issuing 1,977 cards.<br />
7. VIPs were credentialed expeditiously at<br />
the Intercontinental Hotel.<br />
8. Soviet athletes who arrived at Pusan by<br />
sea were able to go through accreditation<br />
formalities at the Pusan accreditation<br />
center.<br />
