Then shelled nuts were immediately dried in shed and room temperate (Rataj and Brindza, 1999 and Prasad, 2003). The shell was cracked and kernel divided into fourth replicates, then for each ones derived from 25 different fruit nuts (to represent one sample) were allotted. Sensory evaluation comprised estimation of external and internal properties of walnut fruit. 02 Table (1): Locations and Walnut cultivars used in sensory evaluation: Location Cultivars Bagera kavlasin 1 kavlasin 2 Mayi Azad 1 Azad 2 Remzi 1 Remzi 2 Remzi 3 Ehmed Taha Ehmed Selman 1 Ehmed Selman 2 Selim Said Heji Khefur Amedy Sediq Qesab Heji Reshed Mistefa Taha Zakho Ali Mirza/ Bije Duhok Azad3,seed from Austrian The main physical characteristics of fruits were observed by collecting 100 fruits from each individual , and the following characteristics were measured: 1- The dimensions of 25 fruit nuts: (length, width, thickness, Length/width) of the endocarp measured with a digital vernire calipers to the precision of 0.01mm. 2- Weight (g), (flesh, dry weight) measured with the weighing instrument, Sartorius BA310S to the precision of 0.001g. 3- Volume cm 3 , measured by immersing in water in a measuring cylinder to the precision of 0.01l. 4- Weight of kernel(g), measured with the weighing instrument, Sartorius BA310S to the precision of 0.001g. 5- Shell thickness(mm), measured with a digital venire calipers to the precision of 0.01mm. 6- Kernel color, measured by exotica horticultural color guide (1-12). 7- Oil%, measured by sacsolate instrument. Statistical analyzed: Each panel was analyzed as a randomized complete block design with the assessors as block and cultivars/types as treatments. Data for all cultivars were analyzed using ANOVA in SAS. Means were compared using the Duncan test (P ≤ 0.05).
