The height of the house is recommended to
be between (2.1-2.4 m) (North & Bell, 1990).
The study has shown that (70 %) of the total
houses are built with the height of (2-2.4 m).
It would be better to isolate the poultry
houses with one of the available thermal
insulation materials, where it saves the cost of
heating in cold weather and prevents humidity
condensation on the ceiling, as it reduces the
effectiveness of the heat of the sun in summer
(North & Bell, 1990). The study shows that
about (40%) of the houses are thermally
insulated and (55%) of house ceilings are from
steel plates and (45%) are from cement. Perhaps
the main reason which makes the producers not
embark upon providing their houses with
thermal insulation is the high cost.
7. Technical specifications of broiler house
equipments
It is necessary to provide the appropriate
equipments and tools to ensure the good
performance of the birds. It is necessary to keep
pace with modern developments and techniques
in these equipments, which would facilitate the
work and maximize the productive efficiency of
the breeding birds, which lead to the reduction of
cost. Some equipment are studied in the fields
like feeders, waterers, lights and feed mills.
The study shows that about (90%) of the
fields used automatic feeders and waterers. All
the houses were supplied with electricity and
light bulbs are distributed on three lines which is
the accepted distribution. About (80%) of the
total fields own feed mills to grind and mix the
ration themselves, which will lead to lowering
the cost of food.
Recommendations:
Based on the findings of this study the following
recommendations were advanced towards

alleviating the problems being encountered by
poultry farmers and increasing their
productivity.
1- Implementation of the recommendations on
good technical specifications and requirements
for housing poultry in general and broiler in
particular.
2- Tighten control over the quality of chicks at
the age of one day and at the level of the fields
of maternal and the hatching chicks and make
sure that there were no diseases when they are
distributed to the breeders.
3- Extension activities should focus on training
the farmers on the improved production
management to enable them to use the available
resources efficiency and increase productivity.
