The differences in <strong>the</strong> whole table possessed <strong>the</strong> highest degree <strong>of</strong><br />

significance (p = 0.000). Responses to Statement A (Hungarians<br />

should apologise to Slovaks for <strong>the</strong> Vienna Arbitration) were clearly<br />

situated in <strong>the</strong> negative area <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> scale. The opinions <strong>of</strong> respondents<br />

over 64 were significantly different statistically from those <strong>of</strong><br />

all o<strong>the</strong>r age groups. In contrast to our previous research, here we<br />

demonstrated that <strong>the</strong> group aged under 34 ruled out any apology<br />

for <strong>the</strong> Vienna Arbitration to roughly <strong>the</strong> same degree as o<strong>the</strong>r age<br />

groups did (apart from <strong>the</strong> oldest generation). The reason for this<br />

could be that <strong>the</strong>y view it as an international political document, a<br />

settlement based on international agreement, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>refore see no<br />
