Yorkshire Wildlife Trust stated that there is ancient woodland
adjacent to the proposed development site; and that it is essential that
this site and its wildlife should not be disturbed during construction of
the proposed development and won‟t be affected by the presence of
the turbines. They suggested that potential impacts on Local Wildlife
Sites near to the site, at Brampton Common and Ulley Country Park,
should also be assessed. Where possible, the trust suggested that any
opportunities to provide mitigation or to enhance the site for wildlife
after construction, should be acted upon. They also stated that (as also
included within the RMBC response):
(i) Phase I habitat survey should be carried out prior to the
herbaceous and annual vegetation dying back;
(ii) Any ponds within 500m of the site should be checked for great
crested newts and other wildlife; and
(iii) Details should be included of the timings of protected species
surveys.
