Cumulative Effects – consideration of any cumulative effects arising
from the addition of this proposed development to other similar
development, whether already operational, consented or in the
planning system;
Summary of Effects; and
Statement of Significance.
All figures referenced within this section, as well as the desk-based
assessment and geophysical survey reports are included in Appendix 6 of
this ES.
METHODOLOGY AND ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
INTRODUCTION
10.4 This assessment has involved:
consultation with the statutory and non-statutory authorities to gain
data establishing the baseline conditions for the site and its
surrounding area;
desk-based studies and site visits to contribute to and validate data
relevant to establishing the baseline conditions (presented as a Deskbased
Assessment Report (A10.1) in Appendix 6 of this ES;
geophysical survey of the proposed development footprint (presented
as a Geophysical Survey Report (A10.2) in Appendix 6 of this ES;
assessment of the effects expected from the proposed development
and their potential effect upon the existing conditions;
assessment of the significance of the effects taking into account the
sensitivity of site (and selected features beyond the site), the
magnitude of potential effects (both direct and indirect) and the
likelihood of such effects occurring; and
identification of means to mitigate and avoid, where possible, any
potential effects, as well as the assessment of the residual effects
which may exist after application of any mitigation.
10.5 A detailed method statement for the assessment of effects and their
significance is presented in paragraph 10.14.
