Reinstatement around turbines;
Construction of grid connection;
Commissioning and testing of turbines; and
Site reinstatement and restoration.
5.8 Many of the operations outlined above will be undertaken concurrently in
order to minimise the overall duration of the construction phase of the
proposed development. A working programme for the construction phase
is depicted on Drawing HJB/681/PA22.
5.9 Construction periods will be restricted to the following:
Monday to Friday: between 08:00 – 18:00;
Saturdays: between 08:00 - 13.00; and
Sundays and Bank Holidays: no work.
5.10 The only exception to the above would be for the delivery of abnormal
loads requiring police escort.
5.11 In the case of turbine delivery and construction periods working hours will
be restricted to:
Monday to Friday: between 08:00 – 22:00;
Saturdays: between 08:00 – 22:00
Sundays and Bank Holidays: No work
5.12 In the case of turbine commissioning working hours will be restricted to:
Monday to Sunday (Including Bank Holidays) 08:00 – 22:00
5.13 In the event that any other work needs to take place outside of these
periods, this will be agreed in advance with the local planning authority
and local residents will be notified.
5.14 As stated above, construction activities will be undertaken in accordance
with an EMP for the site. The aims of the EMP are to provide guidance on
good working practices on site to minimise the potential impacts to soil,
geology, hydrology and hydrogeology resulting from the construction of the
wind farm. Additional procedures will be developed to cover ecological
and noise impacts. Further details on the EMP are included in Section 16
of this ES and the draft Penny Hill EMP is contained in Appendix 12.
