Adding or Editing Metadata<br />

After you create or update content, it is typically published.<br />

Programs that search the Web look at a page’s title and keywords<br />

to determine if they should return your Web page. To improve<br />

search results, <strong>Ektron</strong> <strong>CMS400.NET</strong> provides two fields within<br />

Metadata by default.<br />

Your system administrator may enable or disable these fields for each folder.<br />

• Title - appears on the search results screen to further define<br />

your Web page<br />

• Keywords - are searched by leading search programs, along<br />

with the page’s title<br />

After content is published, you can view the page source to see its<br />

metadata. Below is an example.<br />
