A form has the following components.<br />

• Form (title, ID number, whether the form data is sent as email,<br />

and/or saved to a database, etc.)<br />

• Content information (title, start and/or end date, status,<br />

postback message, etc.)<br />

• Form fields (text field, password field, text area, hidden text,<br />

choices, checkbox, select list, calendar, submit button, etc.)<br />

The screen you use to create a form follows five simple steps. After<br />

completing the steps, you have a new form that’s ready to collect<br />

the information you need. To make the task easier, <strong>Ektron</strong><br />

<strong>CMS400.NET</strong> provides sample forms that you can start with then<br />

customize.<br />

As explained in ”Mailto or Database Form” on page 211, form data<br />

can be emailed and/or saved to a database. Forms created using<br />

the procedure described below are saved to a database by default,<br />

but not emailed. To change either setting, use the Edit Properties<br />
