Inserting a Text Field<br />

Field Description<br />

Descriptive<br />

Name<br />

Working with HTML Forms<br />

Enter a description of the field.<br />

This text describes the field on form reports. See<br />

”Viewing Form Reports” on page 197.<br />

Field Name Enter a name for this field. This text identifies the field in<br />

the database and in email if the form is mailed.<br />

Note: You cannot enter spaces nor most special<br />

characters (!@#$%^&*()+=,.:;’"{}[]|‘~) into this field. If<br />

you do, they are replaced by underscores.<br />

Tool Tip Text Enter text that appears when a site visitor hovers the<br />

cursor over this field (circled in red below).<br />

Value Enter the value that will be saved with this field when the<br />

form is submitted.<br />

Use a plain text field when you want the user to enter an<br />

unformatted, free text response.<br />

To insert a plain text field, follow these steps.<br />

1. Place a plain text field onto the screen. See Also: ”Adding<br />
