FUNCTION
Returns the physical characteristics of a specified device.

In the calling sequence, you can provide the following information:

device is the SIXBIT physical or logical name of a device.
channo is the number of an initialized channel.
udx is the Universal Device Index for a device.
RETURN
If the device is not found, or if your program has not initialized the
device, the monitor clears the ac. Otherwise, the ac contains flags
giving the physical characteristics of the device. --The flags and
their meanings are:

Special display device. Note that this does not
indicate the "display" terminal characteristic.
Device with long dispatch table; this means that
monitor calls other than INPUT, OUTPUT, CLOSE, and
RELEAS can perform real functions.
Papertape punch.
Papertape reader.
DECtape.
The device is available or is assigned to your
job.
