HDMI control function<br />

If the HDMI control function does not operate properly, check the<br />

following points.<br />

• Is the TV or player compatible with the HDMI control function?<br />

• Is “HDMI Control” (vpage 121) set to “On”?<br />

• Is “Power Off Control” (vpage 121) set to “All” or “Video”?<br />

• Is “Control Monitor” (vpage 121) set for the monitor output<br />

connected to television?<br />

• Is “Control Monitor” (vpage 121) set to the TV that uses the<br />

HDMI control function when this unit is connected to two TVs that<br />

support HDMI connectors?<br />

• Are the HDMI control function settings of all devices correct?<br />

NOTE<br />

• When “HDMI Control” is set to “On”, it consumes more standby<br />

power.<br />

• The HDMI control function controls operations of a TV that is<br />

compatible with the HDMI control function. Make sure that the TV<br />

and HDMI are connected when you perform HDMI control.<br />

• Some functions may not operate depending on the connected TV<br />

or player. Check the owner’s manual of each device for details<br />

beforehand.<br />

• When “Power Off Control” on the menu is set to “Off”<br />

(vpage 121), this unit is not set to standby even if the connected<br />

device is in the standby mode.<br />

• When connection changes are implemented, such as adding<br />

connections to HDMI devices, linked operations may be initialized.<br />

In this case, you will need to reconfigure the settings.<br />

• When “HDMI Control” is set to “On”, it is not possible to assign an<br />

HDMI connector to “TV AUDIO” at “Input Assign” (vpage 125).<br />

• Should any of the operations below be performed, the interlocking<br />

function may be reset, in which case, repeat steps 2 and 3.<br />

• “Input Assign” – “HDMI” (vpage 125) setting has changed.<br />

• “Video Output” (vpage 120) setting is changed.<br />

• There is a change to the connection between the devices and the<br />

HDMI, or an increase in devices.<br />

• The HDMI ZONE2 function is not compatible with the HDMI control<br />

function.<br />

• When the HDMI ZONE2 function is used with “HDMI Control” in the<br />

menu set to “On”, the HDMI ZONE2 function may not fully work.<br />

• If “HDMI Control” in the menu is set to “On” and the power of<br />

ZONE2 is on, this units may behave as follows. It is recommended<br />

to disable the HDMI control function on your TV and player when<br />

using the HDMI ZONE2 function. (Some example behaviors are<br />

listed below.)<br />

• When the power of the TV used for MAIN ZONE is off and the<br />

player selected for ZONE2 starts playback, the TV used for MAIN<br />

ZONE is turned on. In this case, the input source selected for MAIN<br />

ZONE changes to the input source selected for ZONE2.<br />

• When playing back a TV used for MAIN ZONE and ZONE2 with<br />

an HDMI connection, turning off the TV used for MAIN ZONE also<br />

turns off this unit and the player.<br />

• When a same input source is selected for MAIN ZONE and ZONE2,<br />

stopping playback of the player on the TV stops the playback on the<br />

player and the video being played back in ZONE2 as well.<br />
