how <strong>the</strong> battle will end; but you, my children,<br />

must go to a place of safety, to keep from hear<br />

ing <strong>the</strong> terrible war whoop of <strong>the</strong> Chenoo, which<br />

is death to men. You must cover your ears,<br />

<strong>and</strong> hide yourselves in a cave.&quot;<br />

Then he sent <strong>the</strong> woman for <strong>the</strong> bundle he<br />

had brought with him. This had hung un<br />

The Chenoo opened <strong>the</strong> bundle, <strong>and</strong> took out<br />

a pair of dragon s horns. One of <strong>the</strong>m had two<br />

branches, <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r was straight <strong>and</strong> smooth,<br />

<strong>and</strong> both were as bright as gold. He gave <strong>the</strong><br />

straight horn to <strong>the</strong> Indian, <strong>and</strong> kept <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

one for himself.<br />
