The child w<strong>and</strong>ered on <strong>and</strong> on, <strong>and</strong> after<br />

awhile it grew dark, <strong>and</strong> he was tired <strong>and</strong> lonely<br />

for he was only five years old. He w<strong>and</strong>ered<br />

on in <strong>the</strong> dark, <strong>and</strong> at last he saw a light glim<br />

mering through <strong>the</strong> trees. He followed <strong>the</strong><br />

gleam until he reached <strong>the</strong> light.<br />

The light came from a wigwam, <strong>and</strong> he heard<br />

people talking inside. He went to <strong>the</strong> doorway<br />

<strong>and</strong> saw a woman sitting in <strong>the</strong> wife s place;<br />

<strong>and</strong> far<strong>the</strong>r on, before <strong>the</strong> fire, were two little<br />
