helper of <strong>Glooscap</strong>, but this did not prevent<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir having a hearty contest of magic, in which<br />

<strong>the</strong>y both were nearly killed. As <strong>the</strong> two<br />

giants talked that evening in <strong>the</strong> wigwam,<br />

<strong>the</strong>y called up a <strong>great</strong> frost by <strong>the</strong>ir magic, <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> trees were torn up by <strong>the</strong>ir roots, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>great</strong> rocks were split; <strong>and</strong> all within <strong>the</strong> wig<br />

&quot;Who will sit in <strong>the</strong> stern <strong>and</strong> paddle, <strong>and</strong><br />
