The procedures are different when the rule is part of a service monitor and when it is not. To specify manage services alarm action, edit an existing 'Start or stop service(s)' alarm action or create a new 'Start or stop service(s)' alarm action. When the alarm action is part of a rule of a service monitor you have the option to manage the associated service or other services as shown in the figure below: 150
Using MonitorMagic Start service (and all dependent services) Select this option if you want to start the target service and all dependant services. If the alarm action is not part of a rule of a service monitor this option is not available, since there is no target service. Restart multiple services (specify services in list below) Use this option to stop and start all services listed in the field Service list. If the services are running, they will be stopped first. Stop service (and all dependent services) Select this option if you want to stop the target service and all dependant services. If the alarm action is not part of a rule of a service monitor this option is not available, since there is no target service in this case. Stop multiple services (specify services in list below) Select this option if you want to stop one or more services for this alarm action. Specify the services in the list Service list.
