Event log advanced settings
Use the Event log advanced settings window to specify additional settings that apply to events
generated in the past and the way MonitorMagic processes the rules for event log monitors. To
access this window, press the Advanced button in the Specify event log monitors window.
When processing an event log monitor, the MonitorMagic service will process all the events that
occurred since the last time the service processed the event log. If the event log monitor is
processed for the first time, you need to specify how the MonitorMagic service must deal with old
events.
Processing of events from the past
Include all events found in the log
Select this option if you want to evaluate the rules for all events available from the log.
Ignore all events from the past
Select this option if all events from the past should be ignored.
Include events from the past that are not older then ... minutes
With this option, you also need to specify the period in minutes.
Rule reset specification
Reset rule when event did not re-occur
If you want to reset a rule of an event log monitor, that is triggered, select this option if the event
did not re-occur since the last evaluation of the event log. This selection implies that the rule is
reset when the event log is evaluated and only other events occurred.
Reset rule not until acknowledged
Select this option if you don't want the rule to be reset unless the rule is acknowledged.
