The attribute values can contain variables that are calculated and filled in at run time. Variables
are always enclosed in brackets []. The following variables are supported:
Variable Example Description
[DSN] MonitorMagicDataSource The name of the data source,
created or used by the
MonitorMagic service
[LOGON_ID] sa The logon ID used to access
the SQL Server database
[PASSWORD] password The password used to logon to
the SQL Server database
By default, you do not need to change the attribute settings shown. Press Finish to create the
system data source and the SQL Server database.

When the MonitorMagic database already exists you can instruct the MonitorMagic service to use
the existing database. This can be a database of any of the supported types, running on the
same or a different computer as the MonitorMagic service. To use an existing database, the
MonitorMagic service needs a system data source that connects to the database. MonitorMagic
can create the system data source or you can choose a system data source that as already
been configured. In both cases, MonitorMagic will not create the database, but assume that the
database exists.
