Upgrading from MonitorMagic release candidate versions When you have installed a release candidate version of MonitorMagic, you first need to uninstall this version completely. This is due to the fact the installation procedure no longer uses the Microsoft Windows Installer software. The main reason for this choice is the required reboot of systems running Windows NT 4.0 without Windows Installer. The demo version supports all functions and features. The 30-day period starts counting when you install the MonitorMagic service. After 30-days, the demo license is expired and the MonitorMagic service will stop functioning. To obtain a valid license code, contact your MonitorMagic reseller. See MonitorMagic license for more information. Once expired, you can still upgrade a demo version to a purchased version. All configuration setting will be maintained and there is no need to reconfigure any settings. You only need to specify a valid license code. Setup Specifying the MonitorMagic service license code MonitorMagic license codes for multiple services and domains MonitorMagic license MonitorMagic is licensed based on the number of monitored servers(*). Each server license includes 10 additional licenses for monitoring and managing workstations and other devices (for instance SNMP devices). The license code is a character string containing 6 times 5 digits. An example of the license code is: 12345-22345-32345-42345- 52345. The license code needs to be specified when installing a MonitorMagic service. For each MonitorMagic service, you need to specify a license code.
