MonitorMagic Store collected report data in the database immediately This is the default option. All collected report data will be stored in the database immediately. This option is commonly used when the database is always available. If the database is not available, try again according to the scheduler If you select this option, the collected report data will be stored in a temporary file when database storage fails, e.g. when the database is not available. The data in the file will be delivered to the database according to the Scheduler. Only when all file data is successfully stored, the file will be deleted. Otherwise, the MonitorMagic service will retry to store the file data in the database according to the scheduler, in the example at 03:15. Store collected report data in local files first. Deliver the data to the database according to the scheduler When the report data is collected, the data is not stored in the database immediately. Instead it is stored in a local file. The data in the file will be delivered to the database according to the Scheduler. Only when all file data is successfully stored, the file will be deleted. Otherwise, the MonitorMagic service will retry to store the file data in the database according to the scheduler, in the example at 03:15. Using MonitorMagic type of report data collected the report profile The window contains specific information that will be shown in the bottom half of the window. This information will be shown for the selected item only. For all systems the following information will be presented: general info about profiles, the service that executes the reporting, the type of reporting data and computer for which the report is generated. data collection status: last data collection starting point and completion time data storage status: if applicable the data storage starting point and completion time Different types of log information will be presented as well. The following logs will be presented: application log: the number of collected records (between brackets the total number of records in the computer log), starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors security log: the number of collected records, starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors system log: the number of collected records, starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors For a server the following extra information is presented: Directory Service log: the number of collected records, starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors DNS service log: the number of collected records, starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors File Replication log: the number of collected records, starting point, completion time and the number of collection errors 171
