Specify ping devices
A ping monitor is specified by a single TCP/IP host address or a range of addresses. Use the
Specify ping device(s) to add and edit ping monitors. To activate the window, see Creating a
ping monitor.
DNS name or TCP/IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Select this option if you want to add a single TCP/IP host instead of a range of addresses.
Name or address
Enter the address of the TCP/IP host in this field. You can specify a DNS name (for instance
www.tools4ever.com) or the address in dot notation, for instance 192.168.195.201.
TCP/IP address range
Select this option if you want to select a range of TCP/IP addresses. MonitorMagic will create
ping monitors for each address in the range.
Start address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Enter the start address of the range in this field. The start address is included in the range of
addresses. Example: 192.168.195.12
End address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
Enter the end address of the range in this field. The end address is included in the range of
addresses. Example: 192.168.195.37
