Using MonitorMagic
A report profile can contain one ore more computers. For these computers, the MonitorMagic
service will collect report data according to the report profile. Note that you do not need to run
the MonitorMagic service on each of these computers. If a report profile does not contain any
computers, no data will be collected for the report profile. To manage the computers assigned to
a report profile, select the profile and press the Computers button.
In the example above in the report you will find information about EARTH - JUPITER according to
profile definitions in "Exchange", AMSTERDAM according to profile definitions in "File & Print
server" etcetera.
Storage
The MonitorMagic service normally stores the collected report information in the MonitorMagic
database. See Database - Introduction how to setup the MonitorMagic database. For various
reasons, you may want to store the collected report data in a local file first and deliver the data to
the database on a scheduled basis. Press the Change button to specify these settings. Note that
the storage settings apply to all report profiles maintained by the MonitorMagic service.

You can configure how and when the collected report data must be stored in the MonitorMagic
database. For various reasons you might choose not to store the report data in the database
immediately once it has been collected. To name a few:
when the database is not available the data is stored in a temporary file and delivered to
the database later on, at a time that is defined by the user;
report data is collected during the day and you do not want to use the database
connection during the day;
to limit bandwidth usage during daytime, you might want to store the report data in the
database at night time.
