MonitorMagic The monitor policy window shows all monitor policies in a tree structure. At the root level two entries exists: Central monitor policies and Local monitor policies. The Central monitor policies are the policies stored on a central location that can be shared by multiple MonitorMagic application. Monitor policies stored under Local monitor policies are stored in a local file, that can be accessed by this MonitorMagic client applictions only. See Local and central monitor policies for more information. If you open the Local monitor policies item, you will see all locally stored monitor policies. If you open a policy, the monitors that are defined for the policy will be shown. If you open a monitor you will see the rules defined for the opened monitor. If you open a rule you will see the alarm actions defined for the rule. 36

These policies can be used and applied to computers immediately when MonitorMagic is installed. You can also create your own monitor policies or edit existing policies. To create a new monitor policy, start the MonitorMagic client and activate the monitor policy window. Right click the mouse on one of the two root entries Central monitor policies or Local monitor policies and select menu option Create policy. Instead, you can also access this menu option from the main popup menu Policy. 37
