MonitorMagic To check other various settings, press the Startup button. In the displayed window, the service startup type and logon setting can be specified. Normally, the startup type should be set to Automatic. In the Log On As section, the account used by the MonitorMagic service and the password of this account are specified. If for some reason, the MonitorMagic service is not able to log on, you might need to change the password settings in this dialog. The specified password must correspond with the password specified with the User Manager for Domains application. If, for whatever reason, you want to change the account used by MonitorMagic service, you need to use this window to do so. Using MonitorMagic Checking the service files (Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000) See also: Installing the MonitorMagic service Checking the service status (Windows 2000) To check the MonitorMagic service status of a remote or local computer, select Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Computer Management. (On Windows 2000 Professional run Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management.) The local computer is selected by default. To connect to a remote computer, right click the top left text (Computer Management) and select menu option Connect to another computer. Select the remote computer and press OK. When connected, expand the computer management tree: Computer Management, Services and Applications, Services. The right side of the window is updated to show the services of the selected computer. Scroll to find the MonitorMagic service and service status information. If problems occur while the MonitorMagic service is running, the service will write other messages to the application log.
