Students are advised of private health insurance programs for which they<br />

may apply. Students are required to present evidence of a health examination<br />

and insurance coverage prior to departure.<br />

Enrollment Requirements: Students pursuing a <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> facultyled<br />

study abroad program must be enrolled in the course for which the study<br />

abroad program is offered. Additionally, students who drop a faculty-led study<br />

abroad course are subject to forfeiture of all deposits and may incur additional<br />

<br />

Financial Aid: According to the Federal Regulations and Florida Statutes,<br />

<br />

<br />

study in another state or in a foreign country. Students who are eligible for federal<br />

<br />

Aid about using funds from these programs for the purpose of participating in<br />

the study abroad programs. With the exception of the Unger Scholarship and<br />

Babcock Scholarship for study abroad programs, institutional scholarships and<br />

grants are not applicable to study abroad programs; however, recipients of the<br />

Lewis-Wiley Scholarships may use the award for study abroad programs.<br />

Non Faculty-Lead Study Abroad Fee: <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> charges a $160.00<br />

fee to defray the administrative costs associated with a study abroad program.<br />

These costs occur prior to the student’s departure, during the time a student is<br />

away, and upon the student’s return to <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. There is no administrative<br />

fee for study abroad programs that are led by <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> faculty.<br />

Financial Payments: Tuition and fees for any <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> faculty-led<br />

program must be paid in full prior to the student’s departure date. For approved,<br />

non-<strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> sponsored programs, students must submit payments for<br />

tuition and fees directly to the institution or organization sponsoring the study<br />

abroad program. Students are directed to adhere to the terms and conditions, as<br />

set forth in the literature of the applicable study abroad program.<br />

Study Away Programs<br />

<strong>Flagler</strong> offers an array of opportunities for students to enhance learning<br />

<br />

overseeing and coordinating all study away programs, for providing students<br />

and faculty with information on such programs, and for conducting a mandatory<br />

<br />

during the summer term and during fall and spring semesters. All students must<br />

complete the <strong>College</strong>’s application for study away programs before submitting<br />

an application for any of these programs and before attending the Study Away
