Prerequisite: RST 101. A practical course designed to provide advanced<br />

RST 240 – Selected Topics in Youth Ministry (3-6)<br />

RST 340 – Selected Topics (1-6)<br />

Selected Topics offers students opportunities for study in areas of Youth<br />

Ministries that are outside those offered in the catalog.<br />

RST 401 – Pastoral Counseling (3)<br />

A study of the spiritual and psychological bases for effective counseling and ministry.<br />

RST 440 – Selected Topics (1-6)<br />

Selected Topics offers students opportunities for study in areas of youth<br />

Ministries that are outside those offered in the catalog.<br />

RST 470 – Christian Disciplines (3)<br />

Prerequisites: RST 101 and RST 202. Through both the study and practice of<br />

the classical Christian disciplines, the student has the opportunity for deepening<br />

his/her spiritual life and learning methods of nurturing others. Areas covered<br />

are meditation, worship, community, celebration, etc.<br />

RST 477 – Research Assistant (1)<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. An opportunity to work under the<br />

direct supervision of department faculty who are currently conducting research.<br />

Activities may include the development of research strategies, collection of data/<br />

graded on a Pass/Fail system.<br />

RST 481, 482, 483 – Internship (1-6, 1-6, 1-6)<br />

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. A wide diversity of internship<br />

possibilities are available to students that provide hands-on participation in a<br />

number of areas pertaining to youth ministry. Students should work together<br />

with the Youth Ministry faculty in arranging an internship, for there are multiple<br />

and detailed requirements demanded of the internship. This course is graded on<br />

a Pass/Fail system.<br />

RST 491, 492, 493 – Independent Study (1-6, 1-6, 1-6)<br />

Study in a special area of student interest, subject to departmental approval<br />

and supervision. This course is graded on a letter grade system.
