Media Studies, Strategic Communication (PR), or Journalism and Documentary<br />

Production, and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3. Preference will<br />

be given to a student who participates in varsity sports.<br />

Bruce Arthur Appel Memorial Scholarship. A scholarship in memory of<br />

Bruce Arthur Appel was established in 1993. Funds for the memorial scholarship<br />

were contributed by the family and friends of Bruce A. Appel, the son of Mr. and<br />

Mrs. Charles Appel. Bruce began his working career as an employee of the Sea<br />

Shanty Restaurant in Miami. This scholarship is awarded each year to a junior or<br />

senior who intends to pursue a career in law. To qualify, the student must have a<br />

minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must be accepted into the Pre-Law program.<br />

Atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship<br />

was established in 2002 by Mr. Philip W. Lowe and Atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep<br />

Inc. to aid a student majoring in Business Administration. To qualify the student<br />

need. Preference is<br />

given to residents of St. Johns County, Florida.<br />

James W. Babcock and B. Teri Ludwick-Babcock Endowed<br />

Scholarship for Study Abroad. This scholarship was established in 2012 by<br />

James W. Babcock and B. Teri Ludwick-Babcock. To qualify, a student must have<br />

sophomore standing with the completion of at least 45 credit hours (with the<br />

exception of <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> Faculty Led programs which require 24 attempted credit<br />

hours); have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and be a degree-seeking student.<br />

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit; however, consideration will<br />

need.<br />

John and Peggy Bailey Scholarship. This scholarship was established<br />

in 2000 by Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey of St. Augustine, Florida. Mr. Bailey was a<br />

founding member of the <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> Board of Trustees. To qualify, a student<br />

must meet the following requirements: Junior or senior in good academic<br />

standing, Business Administration major, minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5,<br />

need.<br />

Greg E. and Lillian C. Baker Scholarship. This scholarship was<br />

established in 2000 by Mr. and Mrs. Greg Baker of St. Augustine, Florida, longtime<br />

supporters of <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> and the Young Life Program. Mr. Baker has<br />

served on the President’s Council since 1980. To qualify, a student must be a<br />

junior or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to<br />

a student who is minoring in Youth Ministry, who has demonstrated leadership<br />

with the Young Life Program or similar organization that promotes Christian<br />

values, and who intends to work in an area related to ministry to youth.<br />

John and Anne Baker Scholarship. This scholarship was established in<br />

2003 by Mr. and Mrs. John Baker of St. Augustine, Florida. To qualify, a student
