Cliff Glover Scholarship. This scholarship was established in 2001 by the<br />

Batson-Cook Company honoring Mr. Clifford Clarke Glover. A founding father<br />

of the Batson-Cook Company, Mr. Glover’s career spanned almost sixty years,<br />

interrupted only by his service in the Civil Engineer Corps of the United States<br />

Naval Reserve during World War II. He retired in 1994. To qualify, a student<br />

must meet the following requirements: Education major, be of good character,<br />

resident of the Florida First Coast (counties of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or<br />

need.<br />

Dr. Thomas Graham Scholarship. This scholarship was established<br />

in 2008 by David Iannone (Class of 1986), Ms. Annette Gardiner, alumni,<br />

family and friends in honor of retired history professor, Dr. Thomas Graham.<br />

Dr. Graham taught at <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> from 1973 to 2008. He assisted with the<br />

<br />

generation professors. He began and ended his career at <strong>Flagler</strong>. To qualify, an<br />

applicant must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior of good character with a<br />

major or minor in History, and a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given<br />

need.<br />

Major General Ronald O. Harrison Scholarship. This scholarship<br />

was established in 2000 by the Paxen Group, Inc., in honor of Major General<br />

Harrison, an honorary degree recipient from <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. To qualify, a<br />

student must be a present or past member of the Florida National Guard, or a<br />

spouse, child, or grandchild of a present or past member of the Florida National<br />

Dr. N. Patrick and Sue S. Hale Scholarship. This scholarship was<br />

established in 2006 by St. Augustine residents and longstanding supporters of <strong>Flagler</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong>. Mrs. Hale has served on the President’s Council since 1984. To qualify for this<br />

scholarship, a student must be of good character and a rising sophomore, junior, or<br />

senior majoring in Deaf Education, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.<br />

Dr. Mattie E. Hart Scholarship. This scholarship was established in 2000<br />

by Ian Stake (Class of 1986 and Alumni Board member) and his wife, Caroline,<br />

and the Williams Foundation, as a tribute to Dr. Mattie E. Hart, a former professor<br />

of Religion at <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. To qualify, a student must meet the following<br />

requirements: junior or senior, Religion major or Youth Ministry minor with an<br />

interest in people-oriented vocations (e.g., social work, counseling, Peace Corps,<br />

etc.); minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; and demonstrated interest in community<br />

involvement (continued throughout the duration of the scholarship). Preference<br />

need.
