or senior; must be majoring in Business Administration, Economics, one of the<br />

need.<br />

Lawrence Lewis Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was<br />

established in memory of Mr. Lawrence Lewis, Jr., whose vision, leadership,<br />

and dedication made possible the establishment of <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. To qualify,<br />

a student must meet the following requirements: Junior or senior, resident of<br />

Virginia, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.<br />

Lewis-Wiley Scholarships. Two scholarships are awarded annually to<br />

incoming freshmen who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement,<br />

leadership, and moral force of character. The scholarships are based on merit<br />

<br />

involvement in extracurricular activities, participation in competitive sports, and<br />

evidence of leadership qualities are considered important factors in the selection<br />

process. The Lewis-Wiley Scholarship was established by the <strong>Flagler</strong> Foundation<br />

to honor the late Mr. Lawrence Lewis, Jr., and the late Mrs. James L. Wiley. The<br />

Lewis and Wiley families provide the major funding for the scholarship, and the<br />

<strong>College</strong> draws from institutional funds, and for Florida residents, the Florida<br />

Resident Access Grant (FRAG) so that each Lewis-Wiley Scholar receives full tuition<br />

for four years. All applications for admission completed prior to January 31st are<br />

automatically considered for this scholarship.<br />

Capt. Henry F. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship (established by family<br />

and friends). This scholarship, in memory of Captain Henry F. Lloyd, was<br />

established in 1991 by family and friends. Following a distinguished career in<br />

the United States Navy, Captain Lloyd returned to his childhood home in St.<br />

Augustine and began a new career in college administration at <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />

After serving one year as Director of Admissions, Captain Lloyd was named<br />

Registrar, a position he held for 20 years. He was loved and respected by<br />

faculty and students, and he contributed greatly to the <strong>College</strong>’s development<br />

in its formative years. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be a<br />

need, and must have a<br />

minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. In addition, the selection committee will give<br />

consideration to the student’s character and his/her record of leadership and<br />

service on campus.<br />

Capt. Henry F. Lloyd Memorial Scholarship (established by<br />

Michael and Marybeth Johnston). This scholarship was established in<br />

2007 in memory of Captain Henry F. Lloyd by two grateful, former students,<br />

Michael and Marybeth Johnston. As Director of Admissions and then as
