Andrew Dillon Scholarship. This scholarship was established in 2000<br />

by <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> alumni who majored in English in honor of Dr. Andrew<br />

Dillon. Dr. Dillon, professor of English, retired from full-time service in 2000,<br />

after 28 years of teaching in the English Department at <strong>Flagler</strong>. To qualify, a<br />

student must be a junior majoring in English; have a minimum cumulative GPA<br />

of 2.5; and have demonstrated, in the opinion of his/her instructors, distinct<br />

improvement in the understanding of, and appreciation for, works of literature.<br />

Janie Dickson Memorial Scholarship. The Janie Dickson Memorial<br />

Scholarship supports <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> students who share the dedication to<br />

learning, cultural exchange, and community service that <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> alumna<br />

<br />

students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have an interest in participating<br />

in an enrichment activity, such as a conference, study abroad, or volunteer<br />

mission. To apply, students should contact the Dean of Counseling.<br />

Driskell Family Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was<br />

established by family and friends in memory of Pam Driskell and her sister-inlaw,<br />

Carol Lee Slater Driskell. Pam was an avid paddle tennis player, a student<br />

at <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>, and a secretary in the Education Department. Carol, who had<br />

<br />

“signature” pottery. To qualify, the recipient must be a St. Johns County resident,<br />

need.<br />

Eide-Pace Education Scholarship. This scholarship was established by<br />

members of Kappa Delta Pi, Education Honors Society, to honor Dr. Kathleen<br />

Eide and Dr. Tom Pace for their faithful service to the Education Department at<br />

<strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Dr. Eide joined the college in 1997 and retired in 2011. Dr. Pace<br />

joined the college 1996 and retired and 2008. The scholarship will be awarded<br />

to a sophomore, junior, or senior Elementary Education major who is a member<br />

of Kappa Delta Pi.<br />

The Berniece J. Erwin Memorial Scholarship. The Berniece J. Erwin<br />

Memorial Scholarship was established in 2011 by Frances Erwin Neelands.<br />

The endowed scholarship shall be awarded each year to two students – one<br />

male and one female – and may be used to pay educational expenses for each<br />

student’s tuition, room and board, books, and the reasonable spending needs of<br />

said students. The actual amount of the scholarship award shall be determined<br />

annually by the <strong>College</strong> administration. To be eligible for the scholarship, a<br />

student must be a resident of the State of Florida, must be a junior or senior in<br />

good standing, and must rank in the upper 25 percent of his or her class.
