professor, Louis R. F. Preysz III who retired in 2008. He taught for 26 years<br />

in the Business Administration department. Since its inception in 1983,<br />

Professor Preysz served as advisor to the <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> Chapter of the Society<br />

for Advancement of Management (SAM). He was also director of the internship<br />

program in the Business Administration department. Under Professor Preysz’s<br />

guidance, the SAM teams won eight national management case championships<br />

(no other school has won more than three), and the <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> SAM Chapter<br />

also served as Chaplain of the <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> Mens’ Basketball Team.<br />

Custis N. Proctor Memorial Scholarship for Golf. This scholarship<br />

was established in 1997 by the estate of Custis N. Proctor, brother of Dr. William<br />

L. Proctor, Chancellor of <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. To qualify, a student must be a previous<br />

employee of Ponce de Leon Golf Resort and/or a member of the <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

Golf Team, must be of good character, and must have a minimum cumulative<br />

need who is<br />

majoring in Business Administration.<br />

Custis N. Proctor Memorial Scholarship for Latin American Studies.<br />

This scholarship was established in 1997 by the estate of Custis N. Proctor,<br />

brother of Dr. William L. Proctor, Chancellor of <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong>. To qualify, a<br />

student must be a junior or senior majoring in Latin American Studies, must<br />

need, and must have a<br />

minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.<br />

Samuel M. Proctor Memorial Scholarship. A scholarship in memory<br />

of Samuel Matthews Proctor was established in the fall of 1992, following his<br />

untimely death at the age of 28. Funds for the memorial scholarship were<br />

contributed by family, friends, and classmates. Samuel M. Proctor, the son of<br />

Dr. and Mrs. William L. Proctor, was a graduate of the Citadel and the Stetson<br />

University School of Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989 and began<br />

his practice of law as an Assistant State Attorney. After two years in the State<br />

<br />

Dr. William L. Proctor / Rotary Club of St. Augustine Scholarship.<br />

This scholarship was established in 2002 by the Rotary Club of St. Augustine<br />

as a tribute to Dr. William L. Proctor. Dr. Proctor served as President of the<br />

<strong>College</strong> from 1971 to 2001 and currently serves as Chancellor. He has made and
