Students meeting all the
admission and degree requirements for graduating from a state-approved
regulations do change from time to time, and students majoring in education
The Chair of the Education Department serves as the Director of Teacher
Education at Flagler and is responsible for the administration and interpretation of
College and State Department of Education policies relative to teacher preparation.
Flagler
College requires passing scores on the FTCE before students are assigned
to their 16-week internship. Students completing degree requirements must
State Approved Program: The teacher education programs at Flagler are
State Approved, which means the programs meet the standards prescribed by
the Florida Department of Education. Therefore, Flagler graduates are eligible
General Education Requirements for
Teacher Education Majors
General education requirements are listed on the “Degree Requirements
Checklists” for each major. These “Checklists” are also available in the Education
Student Education and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
majors include:
semester hours in understanding the reading process, beginning reading
instruction, and teaching reading across the content areas for primary
and intermediate grades leading to a Reading endorsement.
