Illustration Minor: A minimum of 31 hours consisting of ART 105, 106,<br />

Foundation Program:<br />

The Foundation Program in Art at <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> represents a series of<br />

interrelated courses that provide a consistent and comprehensive set of skills and<br />

concepts that represent an essential foundation for the successful art student.<br />

The set of skills and concepts include:<br />

1. Competence in observational and expressive drawing techniques.<br />

2. The ability to demonstrate organizational skills based on the elements of<br />

art and principles of design.<br />

3. Visual literacy based upon conceptual frames of reference.<br />

4. The skillful use of a variety of art materials<br />

5. The skills necessary to present and explain their work<br />

6. A working knowledge of the history of art and the role of art<br />

history in their own creative development<br />

7. Disciplined work habits and time management skills
