Student activities are not available during the summer term. Because these<br />

services are not offered, tuition for the summer term is approximately 80% of<br />

the normal annual tuition when compared on a per-semester-hour basis.<br />

Privacy of Student Records<br />

The <strong>College</strong> makes every attempt to enforce the provisions of the Family<br />

Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. This regulation, as it applies<br />

to institutions of higher learning, ensures that students have access to certain<br />

records that pertain to them. It prohibits others, except faculty members or<br />

administrators who have “a need to know” and parents who claim their student<br />

as a dependent for tax purposes, from access to the student’s records, unless the<br />

student signs a waiver. This waiver, the “Release of Student Information Request”<br />

must be signed and submitted by the student and remains in effect until the<br />

student rescinds it in writing.<br />

In accordance with the FERPA, <strong>Flagler</strong> <strong>College</strong> affords students certain<br />

rights with respect to their student records. They are:<br />
