Persons who were aware of their HIV infection had significantly higherlevels of consistent condom use in their marital or cohabiting partnerships compared topersons who were unaware of their status. Still, rates of consistent condom use in thisgroup were relatively low.In marital or cohabiting partnerships, consistent condom use was highest in partnerships reported bywomen and men who self‐reported positive (30.1% and 38.2%, respectively) compared to those whoself‐reported negative (3.2% and 4.7%, respectively) or had never been tested for HIV (1.3% and 2.7%,respectively).
