Amongwomen, the percent of women with correct knowledge increased significantly since 2003 for eachquestion with the exception of the question regarding insects as a means of transmission, for whichthere was no change. The magnitude of the increase was approximately five percentage points for eachquestion. The greatest increase was in the percent of women who correctly answered that HIV couldbe transmitted from an infected mother to her child during breastfeeding (68.4% to 80.9%).KAIS 2007 125
