This section examines participants who disclosed their HIV status to the sexual partners they had inthe year prior to the survey. Analyses in this section are limited to a subset of KAIS respondents whoreported one or more sexual partners in the year prior to the survey.Sexual partnership data in the 2007 KAISDATA IN CONTEXTRespondents were asked to provide behavioral information for up to three sexual partnersduring the 12 months prior to their KAIS interview. This subset of data was used to create aseparate sexual partnership database with each partnership contributing one unit ofobservation. The majority of respondents (69.2% of all women and 61.6% of all men) reported only onepartner in the 12 months before the survey. In contrast, 29.2% of women and 26.5% of menreported no partners, and 1.6% of women and 11.9% of men reported two or more partners inthe 12 months before the survey.100WomenMen8069.2Weighted (%)604061.629.226.520011.91.6No partner One partner Two or more partnersNumber of Reported Partners in theYear Before the SurveyBecause individuals could report more than one sexual partner during the year before thesurvey, estimates in sections 5.4 and 5.5 of this report should be interpreted as percentages ofall partnerships rather than percentage of all individuals. That is, if a person had three partners, each of these partnerships would be counted separately as one unit of observation in theanalyses.KAIS 2007 86
