Women whoreported moderate or great risk or who did not know their HIV risk had higher HIV prevalence rates(11.3% and 7.9%, respectively) compared to women who reported no risk or small risk (5.2% and 6.1%,respectively). HIV prevalence among men who reported moderate or great risk of HIV infection or didnot know their risk was 8.3% and 10.5%, respectively. HIV prevalence was 4.7% among men whoperceived themselves to be at no risk, and 4.5% among men who perceived themselves to be at smallrisk. Overall, HIV prevalence was substantial among respondents who believed themselves to be at norisk (4.9%) or small risk (5.3%) for acquiring HIV (data not shown).Figure 7.5c examines the subset of respondents who reported no risk or small risk for HIV infection.This constitutes 70.7% of all <strong>KAIS</strong> respondents who had been tested for HIV and did not self‐reportpositive based on their last HIV test.<strong>KAIS</strong> <strong>2007</strong> 131
