CHAPTER 15parentheses following its name. A variable not on the CATEGORICALlist can have a c in parentheses following its name. Following is anexample of how to specify the IMPUTE option:IMPUTE = y1-y4 u1-u4 (c) x1 x2;where values will be imputed for the continuous variables y1, y2, y3, y4,x1, and x2 and the categorical variables u1, u2, u3, and u4.The IMPUTE option has an alternative specification that is convenientwhen there are several variables that cannot be specified using the listfunction. When c in parentheses follows the equal sign, it means that capplies to all of the variables that follow. For example, the followingIMPUTE statement specifies that the variables x1, x3, x5, x7, and x9 arecategorical:IMPUTE = (c) x1 x3 x5 x7 x9;The keyword ALL can be used to indicate that values are to be imputedfor all variables in the dataset. The ALL option can be used with the csetting, for example,IMPUTE = ALL (c);indicates that all of the variables in the data set are categorical.NDATASETSThe NDATASETS option is used to specify the number of imputed datasets to create. The default is five. Following is an example of how tospecify the NDATASETS option:NDATASETS = 20;where 20 is the number of imputed data sets that will be created. Thedefault for the NDATASETS option is 5.462
