TITLE, DATA, VARIABLE, And DEFINE Commandsanalysis data set and are not rescaled in any way. Frequency weights areavailable for all analysis types except TYPE=TWOLEVEL and EFA.With TYPE=RANDOM, frequency weights are available only withALGORITHM=INTEGRATION. Following is an example of how theFREQWEIGHT option is specified:FREQWEIGHT IS casewgt;where casewgt is the variable that contains frequency weightinformation.CENTERINGThe CENTERING option is used to specify the type of centering to beused in an analysis and the variables that are to be centered. TheCENTERING option has two settings: GRANDMEAN andGROUPMEAN. Any transformations specified in the DEFINEcommand or the DATA TRANSFORMATION commands are donebefore centering is done.Grand-mean centering subtracts the overall sample mean from theoriginal variable. In multiple group analysis, grand-mean centering useseach group’s mean for centering in that group. Grand-mean centeringcan be used for all continuous observed dependent variables and allobserved independent variables in the analysis for all analysis types.Group-mean centering subtracts the cluster-specific sample mean fromthe original variable. Group-mean centering can be used for allcontinuous observed dependent variables and all observed independentvariables in the analysis for TYPE=COMPLEX and for all continuousobserved dependent variables and all observed independent variablesthat appear on the WITHIN statement of the VARIABLE command forTYPE=TWOLEVEL. To select group-mean centering, specify thefollowing:CENTERING = GROUPMEAN (x1 x2 x3 x4);where x1, x2, x3, and x4 are the variables to be centered using thecluster-specific sample means.495
