MODEL CommandMEANS/INTERCEPTS/THRESHOLDSMeans, intercepts, and thresholds are included in the analysis model asthe default. The NOMEANSTRUCTURE setting of the MODEL optionof the ANALYSIS command is used with TYPE=GENERAL to specifythat means, intercepts, and thresholds are not included in the analysismodel. For convenience, no distinction is made in how means and intercepts arereferred to in the MODEL command. The model defines whether theparameter to be estimated is a mean or an intercept. Means areestimated for independent observed variables and observed variables thatare neither independent nor dependent variables in the model. Means fornominal variables are logit coefficients corresponding to probabilitiesfor each category except the last category. Means for count variables arelog rates. Means for time-to-event variables in continuous-time survivalanalysis are log rates. Means are also estimated for independentcontinuous latent variables and independent categorical latent variables. For an independent categorical latent variable, the means are logitcoefficients corresponding to probabilities for each class except the lastclass.Intercepts are estimated for continuous observed dependent variables, censored observed dependent variables, unordered categorical (nominal)observed dependent variable, count observed dependent variables, baseline hazard parameters for continuous-time survival analysis, continuous latent dependent variables, and categorical latent dependentvariables.Thresholds are estimated for binary and ordered categorical observedvariables. The sign of a threshold is the opposite of the sign of a meanor intercept for the same variable. For example, with a binary dependentvariable, a threshold of -0.5 is the same as an intercept of .5.A list of observed or latent variables enclosed in brackets refers tomeans, intercepts, or thresholds. For example,[y1 y2 y3];585
