CHAPTER 18the third column. When standardized parameter estimates and standarderrors are requested, an R-square value and its standard error are givenfor each observed and latent dependent variable in the model.RESIDUALThe RESIDUAL option is used to request residuals for the observedvariables in the analysis. Residuals are computed for the modelestimated means/intercepts/thresholds and the model estimatedcovariances/correlations/residual correlations. Residuals are computedas the difference between the value of the observed sample statistic andits model estimated value. With missing data, the observed samplestatistics are replaced by the estimated unrestricted model for themeans/intercepts/thresholds and the covariances/correlations/residualcorrelations. Standardized and normalized residuals are available forcontinuous outcomes with TYPE=GENERAL and maximum likelihoodestimation. Standardized residuals are computed as the differencebetween the value of the observed sample statistic and its modelestimated value divided by the standard deviation of the differencebetween the value of the observed sample statistic and its modelestimated value. Standardized residuals are approximate z-scores.Normalized residuals are computed as the difference between the valueof the observed sample statistic and its model estimated value divided bythe standard deviation of the value of the observed sample statistic. TheRESIDUAL option is not available for TYPE=RANDOM and theCONSTRAINT option of the VARIABLE command.
