ANALYSIS CommandWITH option of the MODEL command can be used to free selectedcovariances and residual covariances. Following is an example of howto specify that the covariances and residual covariances among all latentand observed variables in the model are fixed at zero:MODEL = NOCOVARIANCES;REPSEThe REPSE option is used to specify the resampling method that wasused to create existing replicate weights or will be used to generatereplicate weights (Fay, 1989; Korn & Graubard, 1999; Lohr, 1999;Asparouhov, 2009). Replicate weights are used in the estimation ofstandard errors of parameter estimates. The REPSE option has sixsettings: BOOTSTRAP, JACKKNIFE, JACKKNIFE1, JACKKNIFE2,BRR and FAY. There is no default. The REPSE option must bespecified when replicate weights are used or generated. With the BOOTSTRAP setting, the BOOTSTRAP option of theANALYSIS command is used to specify the number of bootstrap drawsused in the generation of the replicate weights. With the JACKKNIFEsetting, the number of Jackknife draws is equal to the number of PSU’sin the sample. A multiplier file is required for JACKKNIFE whenreplicate weights are used. The size of this file is one column with rowsequal to the number of PSU’s. For each PSU in a stratum, the value inthe file is equal to the number of PSU’s in the stratum minus one dividedby the number of PSU’s in the stratum. All PSU’s in a stratum have thesame value. If replicate weights are generated using JACKKNIFE, amultiplier file can be saved. JACKKNIFE1 cannot be used when dataare stratified. JACKKNIFE2, balanced repeated replication (BRR), andFAY are available only when there are two PSU’s in each stratum. TheBRR and FAY resampling methods use Hadamard matrices. With BRRand FAY, the number of replicate weights is equal to the size of theHadamard matrix. The REPSE option is specified as follows:REPSE = BRR;where BRR specifies that the balanced repeated replication resamplingmethod is used to generate replicate weights.541
