CHAPTER 17In mixture modeling, the label following the dash is the name of eachcategorical latent variable when there are more than one categoricallatent variable. Each parameter in the model must be specified followedby the @ symbol or the asterisk (*) and the population parameter value.Any model parameter not specified will have the value of zero as thepopulation parameter value.MODEL COVERAGE:%OVERALL%%class label%MODEL COVERAGE used in conjunction with %OVERALL% and%class label% is used to provide the population parameter values to beused in computing coverage. Statements following %OVERALL% referto the model common to all latent classes. Statements following %classlabel% refer to class-specific model statements. Each parameter in boththe model common to all latent classes and in the class-specific modelmust be specified followed by the @ symbol or the asterisk (*) and thepopulation parameter value. Any model parameter not specified willhave the value of zero as the population parameter value.Class labels are created by adding to the name of the categorical latentvariable a number sign followed by the class number. For example, if c1is a categorical latent variable with two latent classes, the class labels arec1#1 and c1#2.The statements in the overall part of the model include informationabout the means, variances, and covariances of the background variablesand the specification of the overall model including information aboutlatent class parameters that do not vary across the classes. The classspecificparts of the model describe the latent class parameters that dovary across classes.MODEL COVERAGE:%WITHIN%%BETWEEN%MODEL COVERAGE used in conjunction with %WITHIN% and%BETWEEN% is used to provide the population parameter values to be628
