CHAPTER 19Following is the specification of the COUNT option for a negativebinomial hurdle model:COUNT = u1-u4 (nbh); With a negative binomial hurdle model, two variables are considered, acount variable and a hurdle variable. The count variable takes on valuesfor individuals who are able to assume values of one and abovefollowing the truncated negative binomial model. The hurdle variable isa binary latent variable with one denoting that an individual is unable toassume any value except zero. The hurdle variable is referred to byadding to the name of the count variable the number sign (#) followed bythe number 1.OPTIONS FOR DATA ANALYSISThe CLASSES, and SURVIVAL options are used only in the analysis. These options are described below.CLASSESThe CLASSES option is used to assign names to the categorical latentvariables in the model and to specify the number of latent classes in themodel for each categorical latent variable. This option is required forTYPE=MIXTURE. Between-level categorical latent variables must beidentified as between-level variables using the BETWEEN option. TheCLASSES option is specified as follows:CLASSES = c1 (2) c2 (2) c3 (3);where c1, c2, and c3 are the names of the three categorical latentvariables in the analysis model. The numbers in parentheses specify thenumber of classes that will be used for each categorical latent variable inthe analysis. The categorical latent variable c1 has two classes, c2 hastwo classes, and c3 has three classes.SURVIVALThe SURVIVAL option is used to identify the variables that containinformation about time to event and to provide information about the704
